Chocolate Chip Cookies

One of my very favorite family recipes. My mom has tweaked it to be so good. These cookies are soft yet chewy; simply delightful!

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 sticks butter, softened or 14 tablespoons
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 2 1/3 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips We like Semi-Sweet best!

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl or stand mixer combine the butter and sugars. Beat until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  • Add egg and mix until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking soda and salt.
  • Slowly add this to the creamed mixture. Do NOT overmix.
  • Mix in chocolate chips. Just until combined.
  • Then form the cookies into balls. *My favorite cookie scoop is linked below. Flatten slightly with the palm of your hand and bake on a cookie sheet for 10-12 minutes until lightly browned.
  • Let cookies cool on cookie sheet for 5 minutes. Transfer to cooling rack until still slightly warm then transfer to airtight container or freezer bag and freeze. Hopefully you have already enjoyed a cookie by now but if you haven't; make sure to have one warm from the oven with a glass of milk. So good!
